IRAN: First well-head platform for Salman Gas Field built

Construction of the first well-head platform to be used at Salman Gas Field, southern Iran, was finished, Iran Oil Ministry official website SHANA reported on Monday.

Dubbed “2SK-C”, the platform is to be installed on Tondguyan Vessel at Bandar Abbas Offshore Industries in upcoming days.

Designed and constructed by Iranian experts, the platform weighs 1,000 tons and will be employed for drilling of six wells.

Besides the said structure, six more platforms will be installed at the field as well.

A joint gas field between Iran and the United Arab Emirates, Salman is expected to produce 6,000 barrels of condensates per day plus 540 million cubic meters of associated gases.

Petroiran Development Company (PEDCO), an affiliate to the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), is in charge of design and construction.
