Nuclear generation chief quits at British Energy

by Fiona Walsh

British Energy's head of nuclear generation has quit the company, which warned today that problems with cracked pipes at two of its nuclear power plants will have a "significant effect" on output this year.
The group said Roy Anderson has stepped down from the board with immediate effect and that chief executive Bill Coley has taken direct control of nuclear operations.

It said the move is part of the resulting internal reorganisation and that it is "implementing certain further organisational changes to improve station performance".
