IRAN: Private sector has made 150 investments in southern petrochemical zone

Mahshahr Special Petrochemical Zone managing director said the private sector has up to now made 150 investments in this southern region.

Out of the projects, one-third has been inaugurated, Seyed Mohsen Tassalloti told Petroenergy Information Network (PIN).

He added the total investments were worth 6.5 billion dollars, of which five billion has been inject by the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) and 1.5 billion by the private sector.

Due to the government’s plans on development of petrochemical industry at four corners of the country, more giant projects are not expected in Mahshahr, predicted the official, concluding that downstream industries should be expanded in the zone.

All petrochemical projects except Arvand are underway and the civil operations of the region’s second jetty have ended and the necessary measures for equipping the dock have been carried out, he added.
