MIDDLE EAST: Iran ready for oil-gas cooperation with Algeria

Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki here Saturday evening voiced Tehran's readiness to cooperate with Algiers in various areas such as oil and gas, cement, transportation and construction of power plants.

He made the remark while talking to reporters after his meeting with Algerian Prime Minister Abdelaziz Belkhadem.

Referring to expansion of bilateral economic cooperation in the past one year, Mottaki stressed that the agreements reached between the two sides will be materialized soon. Iran and Algeria share identical views regarding several international and regional developments, he said adding that Algiers plays a constructive role both in the world and the region.

Lauding Algeria's stand regarding Iran's nuclear program, Mottaki said since Washington and Tel Aviv have reached an impasse in dealing with the regional resistance, cooperation among friendly countries can have positive impact on the trend of regional developments.

Mottaki arrived in Algiers Friday evening upon an invitation by his Algerian counterpart Mohamed Bedjaoui at the head of a political and economic delegation. Upon his arrival, he said his visit to Algeria was aimed at bolstering economic and political relations and discussing issues of mutual interest as well as key international developments.


Ahmadinejad enforces law on Iran-Belarus customs cooperation
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad enforced the law on administrative and customs cooperation between Iran and Belarus.


According to the secretariat of the information council of the government, Ahmadinejad put into force the agreement which was passed by the Majlis on April 25.


The agreement on administrative and customs cooperation will help boost trade between Iran and Belarus.

The law included an introduction, 22 article and an attachment.
