MIDDLE EAST: Iran’s Shirvan power plant gas section to go on stream soon

The managing director of the Iran Electricity Development Organization (IEDO) said here on Tuesday that the gas section of the Shirvan power plant will be put into operation in the near future.

Mohammad Behzad added that the gas section has six 159MW units, having the capacity to generate 954MW of electricity.

Iran Power Plant Management Company (MAPNA) and Italian Ansaldo Company provided the project with the V94/2A-kind turbines, Behzad added.

The power plant is located in the North Khorassan Province in a 60 hectare area, he said.

The power plant’s fuel and alternative fuel are gas and gas oil respectively
