Pakistan and Iran are expected to sign an agreement on a natural gas pipeline between the two countries next week, Pakistani Petroleum Minister Ahsanullah Khan said.
According to the Xinhua news agency, Khan said Pakistan and Iran were moving ahead positively on the gas pipeline project and the gas supply/purchase agreement should be signed next week between the two countries. He said India would be welcome to join the project when it was ready.
The $7.4 billion pipeline will run from Iran to India via Pakistan and supply about 90 million cubic meters of Iranian gas to India and 60 million cubic meters to Pakistan every day.
