An Iraqi tender for oil companies’ oilfield service contracts will continue until Feb. 18, 2007, news agency AFX has reported.
Contracts to develop oilfields, produce oil and “deploy expertise, equipment and training” for Iraqies are open ahead of later contracts for “long-term exploitation”, the agency reported a Ministry spokesman as saying. Long-term “exploitation” contracts await a new Iraqi oil law, the imminent completion of which has oft been reported.
Meanwhile, oil companies from lesser-known oil regions in the world have moved to strike up deals with Kurds in northern Iraq.
