IRAN: Dlrs 1.5b invested in Mahshahr Petrochemical Special Zone

About dlrs 1.5 billion has been invested in seven years by the private sector in the Mahshahr Petrochemical Special Zone (MPSZ). According to a report on Tuesday by the Public Relations Department of the National Petrochemical Industries Company, so far some 150 private companies have invested in the MPSZ.

The report added that Rejal Petrochemical, Navid Zarchemical, Shahid Rasouli Petrochemical and Shimi Baft companies have made most of the investments in the economic zone. Also, so far 47 private projects in this zone have reached the exploitation phase.

The Petrochemical Economic Special Zone Organization, an affiliate of National Petrochemical Industries Company, was established eight years ago in an area of 1,700 hectares on the Persian Gulf coast near the city of Mahshahr in southwest of Iran.
