The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries supports Venezuela in its row with ExxonMobil Corp. and will review a report on the case when the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries meets again to talk production on 5 March 2008, a Libyan official has said.
“We don't think Venezuela should be treated this way and we are going to look at this,” Libyan National Oil Co. chief Shokri Ghanem has told news agency Dow Jones.
Last week, news agencies reported ExxonMobil had won a court order freezing the assets of Venezuelen state champion PDV in a number of countries.
Oil company and oil-rich country have been arbitration bound since President Hugo Chavez moved to rein in natural resources.
