Iran's oil ministry caretaker Gholam-Hossein Nozari said here Thursday that the country's petrochemical output will reach 27 million tons by March 20, marking end of the current Iranian calendar year of 1386.
Addressing staff of Gachsaran Oil and Gas Company here on thursday, Nozari said the country's petrochemical output now stands at about 15 million tons which would be almost doubled by end of the current year.
He said that based on a timetable, the country's oil production too will increase from 5,300,000 bpd by end of the Fourth Five-Year Economic Development Plan (2005-10).
Nozari cited present oil output of the country at about 4,123,000 bpd.
He put the country's daily gas production capacity at 500 million cubic meters which should be increased to 1500 million cubic meters by end of the 4th plan.
Referring to the daily production of 750,000 barrels of oil in Gachsaran, Nozari stressed the special significance of the region and the importance to pay more attention to its potentials.

The 16 inches gas pipeline will direct the associate gases to Gachsaran's No. 12 gas junction, an NISOC press release said.
Putting the total cost of the project at 31 billion Rials ( $3.3m ), Nazar Khani said the outlay was expected to be recouped within less than a year.
He referred to the protection of the environment by putting an end to the burning of these associate gases as well as increasing the amount of gas required for injection into Gachsaran's low pressure backup unit No. 1 as being among the additional advantages resulting from the project.
With a production capacity of over 750,000 barrels a day, NISOC is one of Iran's important companies in the field of production and export of crude oil.
