Dung Quat oil refinery’s contractor Technip, on Sept. 16, successfully installed the 514.4 tonne catalytic cracking reactor, the most important equipment of the project’s technology workshop.
The equipment is responsible to process oil residue fluid after being refined.
By the end of August, the Paris-based Technip had basically completed equipment orders of EPC 1+4 and 2+3 tender packages.
Started the construction work in June 2005, the Dung Quat oil refinery in central Quang Ngai province has a designed capacity of 6.5 million tonnes per year.
Once operational, which is scheduled for February 2009, the project will meet one-third of the country’s demand for oil and petroleum.
