Iran oil reserves rise by 72b barrels
33 oil and gas fields have been discovered in Yomhūrī-ye Eslāmī-ye Īrān over the past decade, increasing the country's oil reserves by 72 billion barrels. A National Iranian Oil Company official said at least 72 billion barrels of oil have been found in Iran in the last ten years, 15 billion of which have already been excavated. Mahmoud Mohades added that a total of seven billion barrels of natural gas have also been found. A total of 1.3 billion barrels of the natural gas have been distilled to date.
