Exxon Mobil Corp. said Monday it is giving $1 million to the Society of Exploration Geophysicists Foundation.
The foundation provides programs that encourage students to work in geophysics activities around the world.
The Exxon Mobil (NYSE: XOM) donation will be used to start a SEG/Exxon Mobil Student Education Program, which will provide short courses that allow students to integrate geology, geophysics and engineering in a business environment.
Exxon Mobil is based in Irving.
