MIDDLE EAST: Bahrain oil exports down

Bahrain's oil exports dropped by four per cent over the last three months to top 2.43 million metric tonnes down from 2.53 million metric tonnes last year.

Diesel exports represented the bulk topping over 1.142 million metric tonnes, up from 1.064 million metric tonnes last year, the National Oil and Gas Authority announced.

The NOGA first quarterly report for 2007 also revealed a sharp decrease by 30pc in fuel oil, with exports plummeting to 501,305 metric tonnes down from 723,211 metric tonnes.

Kerosene also followed the same trend, dropping to 375,415 metric tons after topping 421,606 metric tonnes last year. Meanwhile, Mogas and Naphtha exports rose to 67,636 metric tonnes 344,063 metric tonnes, respectively. The number of tankers inspected at Sitra oil terminal topped 102 up from 92 over the same period last year, average of 34 monthly.
