Oslo-based pump maker Bjoerge will enter the rig-propulsion business with U.S.-based Flowserve and a new concept to make thrusters more efficient, it was understood Friday.
Getting rig thrusters to work in unison without offsetting each other’s energy has long been a problem for rig designs, and the partnership is “working on something unique”.
“We’re actually starting a new business. It’s just in the starting stages, but its thrusters”, a source revealed to Oilgas24 affiliate, Scandinavian Oil-Gas Magazine.
