Tap Oil Limited (“Tap”) provides the following information on the Totem-1 well which spudded on 26 July 2007. The well is located in exploration permit WA-191-P, approximately 4 kilometres northeast of the Amulet oil discovery.
Progress
The Totem-1 well spudded at 00:00 hours, 26 July 2007. At 06:00 hrs the well was at 156 metres measured depth.
Totem-1 is programmed to have a total depth of around 2,000 metres measured depth. The well is expected to reach total depth in about 8 days.
Tap Comment
The Totem-1 well is targeting oil in a closure at the Calypso/Legendre Formation similar in style to the nearby Amulet oil field discovered late last year in which Tap has a 20% interest.
