Pride International, the fourth-largest U.S. offshore oil and natural-gas driller, said it found evidence during an internal investigation that improper payments were made to officials in Mexico and Venezuela from 2003 to 2005.
The payments were used to clear jack-up rigs through customs in Mexico and to get extensions on contracts in Venezuela, Houston-based Pride said in a U.S. regulatory filing last week.
