The Construction Corporation No.1 on Feb. 8 began work on a four-turbine hydropower plant in the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong, which is expected to have an annual capacity of some 614 million kilowatt-hours.
The 144-megawatt Dak R'Tih hydropower plant is being constructed with a total investment capital of about 3.4 trillion VND (roughly 212.5 million USD) from local and foreign creditors.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung instructed constructors and local authorities to ensure the plant’s quality as well as environmental protection.
The Deputy PM particularly paid attention to the resettlement work of the project, saying local people must have better houses when they move to new resettlement area.
He expressed his belief that the project will contribute to the socio-economic development and raising the living standard for the people in Dak Nong province.
