Nova Chemicals Corp. said Thursday Chairman J.E. "Ted" Newall will step down on April 12, as planned.
Newall has been chairman of Nova Chemicals (nyse: NCX - news - people ) since 1998. Replacing him will be Director James M. Stanford. He will take the position pending his re-election to the board.
The company also said Chief Operating Officer Chris Pappas will join its board, effective immediately. Nova Chemicals shares rose 9 cents to close at $31.05 on the New York Stock Exchange.
